Dominique works with the Strawberry Breeding and Research program at UC Davis. Originally from a farming family in the Santa Maria region of California, she left the state to obtain a BS in Biology from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. She returned to California to pursue a MS and PhD at UC Davis, where she worked on resistance of Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt in strawberry. Dominique’s current projects include the continued evaluation of important UC Davis strawberry germplasm to soilborne diseases and identification of genetic loci linked with resistance to these diseases, development of tools to allow for implementation of high-through genomic-based breeding methods in the strawberry pipeline (e.g. MAS, GS), and the curation of pedigree records.
