She is working with Dr. Andrew Walker on one of his grape breeding research program. She completed her Masters and the undergraduate degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics at the University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan. Her interest areas are plant breeding, genetics, and plant pathology. Her current project is Physical mapping, comparative genome analysis and cloning of resistance genes for powdery mildew (PM) resistance in Chinese species V. piasezkii. Specifically, introgression of multiple R genes into grape vines for creating a stronger barrier of resistance against evolving pathogens of PM.
