Position Title
Amélie Gaudin

Bio

Within the lab of Dr. Amélie Gaudin, my research focuses on supporting agroecological transitions in California, with an emphasis on integrated crop-livestock systems (ICLS) in vineyards and fruit/nut orchards as part of the California Organic, Agroecological, and Regenerative (COAR) Transitions Project. I am adapting the FAO’s Tool for Agroecology Performance Evaluation (TAPE) to better assess biophysical impacts, such as biodiversity and soil health, and social impacts, such as labor rights, in California farming systems. Through a 2026 Fulbright, I will conduct a community situational analysis of ICLS in central Chile under the mentorship of Dr. Leah Renwick. I aim to understand adoption barriers, ecological benefits, and scaling strategies for ICLS.

From 2023-2025, I was a MSc International Agricultural Development student in Dr. Amanda Crump's Lab, studying extension methodology and monitoring and evaluation capacity in Chile. Outside of academia, I play on the UCD Ultimate Frisbee team, Rogue, and foster kittens through UCD's Orphan Kitten Project.
