Onpreeya Phetchpitak, PhD

My interest in postharvest biology stemmed from undergraduate plant physiology classes at Chiang Mai University, Thailand, where I completed my BS Biology in 2022. My current research aims to investigate the impacts of manipulating multiple storage environments on tomato fruit biology, specifically development, hormonal dynamics, and molecular modifications, with the goal of extending shelf-life and maintaining quality altogether. The fundamental knowledge from tomato fruit may later be translational to other fruit species, including tropical fruit crops that I intend to work on after graduation.
